We have over 370 tenanted allotment plots at our Reading Road site in Woodley. All plots have access to a nearby water tank, and there are two toilets at either end of the site.
There is currently a waiting list for plots. If you would like to be added to this list, please fill out the Allotments Application Form towards the bottom of this page. At present, it is estimated that it can take around 18-24 months before a plot can be offered. You are required to contact us each January to advise if you wish to remain on the waiting list.
We primarily offer 10 pole and 5 pole plots, which equate to approximately 250sq metres and 125sq metres respectively; we are also increasing the number of smaller “starter” plots on site.

As of January 2025, the water charge will increase to 50p per pole, per year, and will be charged along with the annual plot rent to go towards the cost of providing water at the site.
Please note: If you are of state pensionable age, the Council will require proof of this in order for you to receive the retired person’s concession.
New tenants must pay a £10 fee for site security and toilet facilities, and a £15 key deposit, per key required. Payment of a plot deposit will be required, fee determined at the start of Tenancy.

Woodley Allotments Tenants Association
Woodley Town Council work with a committee of volunteers, the Woodley Allotments Tenants Association. This is made up of a group of helpful tenants who assist in conducting site inspections, inducting new tenants and identifying issues on site.
