Community meeting focussed on future services

Communmity Meeting being held on Saturday 29th November at 3pm at the Oakwood Centre

Come and have your say on the future of Town Council services

Following our recent consultation, seeking views on the portion of Council Tax that supports Woodley Town Council services, residents’ are invited to a Community Meeting to discuss more about which services you value most and to help direct future service offering.

Your money – a small sum called precept which is collected alongside your Council Tax – goes towards supporting the provision of Town Council services. For 2024/25, this sum – for a typical Band D property – is £106.69 per year, or £8.89 per month.

The services supported include the provision of grants, youth services, allotments and events, as well as the upkeep and maintenance of our assets, like the Oakwood Centre, Woodford Park Leisure Centre, parks and play areas, to name but a few.

We received well over a thousand responses to our consultation, with the outcome as follows:

  • Option 1 – 89p increase = 26%
  • Option 2 – 53p increase = 17%
  • Option 3 – 18p increase = 13%
  • Option 4 – no change = 20%
  • Option 5 – decrease = 25%

Your feedback is now helping guide our decisions and budget planning for the years ahead, and we want to hear from you in person.

💬 Which of our services do you value most? What would you like to see us providing in future? What do you think could be improved?
