"Woodley Model Yacht Club"

Sailing venue - Southlake. (adjacent to Wallace Close  - Post Code RG5 3HW)

We are a friendly group of enthusiasts who enjoy building and sailing model boats of all kinds, uitilising the latest technology in radio control.

There is a strong competitive sailing section where we comply with Model Yachting Association rules, to whom we are affiliated.  The sight of our yachts on Southlake gives much pleasure.

We also have a scale model section and members 'sail' a wide and interesting variety of electrically powered model boats.
We are only permitted the use of sail or electric propulsion so that there is no environmental impact on the wildlife - the ducks do not find our boats a threat!  (One of our members won a gold medal at The London Model Show with a superb model of the S.S.Great Britain.)

The club exhibit at Beale Park Model show each year where members' boats are on display.

We meet at Southlake on Wednesday and Sunday Mornings 10 till 1.pm and also on Fridays at varying times. We are there every week unless the weather is terrible.

We are always pleased to welcome new members.
