Garden of Remembrance
In 1998 Woodley Town Council agreed to create a Garden of Remembrance, which was opened by the Chairman of the Council in 1999.
The Garden has four distinct areas which represent the four seasons and also relate to the stages of life, the four elements and the four corners of the earth.
The Garden is non-denominational and the names of loved ones who are no longer with us can be inscribed on brass plaques which are then placed on the raised flower beds. We can no longer offer engraving on the large stone in the centre of the garden due to lack of space.
Further details about the person whose name is inscribed are recorded in a 'Book of Remembrance' held in the Council offices. For details please ring the Council offices for a leaflet on 0118 969 0356.
