Grant application guidelines
Community Grants - up to £250
Who can apply?
Community organisations based in Woodley, or those who can demonstrate how they serve Woodley residents. Membership must be open to Woodley residents.
What can you apply for?
Grants are available up to £250, for one-off costs, such as equipment, materials, or building alterations.
How do you apply?
By completing a Community grant application form
By providing a copy of the organisation’s constitution/Memorandum of Articles
By providing the latest copy of audited or examined annual accounts
Giving a breakdown of anticipated expenditure and income if a new group applying.
When can you apply?
Applications are considered twice a year by the Strategy and Resources Committee and should be returned by 31 March or 31 October.
Grants to individuals - up to £100
Who can apply?
Individuals residing in the town of Woodley. Please note that preference will be given to applicants who have not previously received a grant from Woodley Town Council.
What can you apply for?
Costs towards an activity that brings credit to the town, for example a contribution towards the cost of attending events, being a representative at a regional or national level.
When can you apply?
Applications are considered twice a year by the Strategy and Resources Committee and should be returned by 31 March or 31 October.
General guidelines
Woodley Town Council will not normally award grants for activities:
that could reasonably be expected to be funded from other sources
that could reasonably be expected to be funded from members’ subscriptions
that seek to promote or oppose a party political viewpoint.
Conditions of grant aid
All grants are made subject to the following conditions:
Applications must be submitted in black ink, written or typed. E-mailed application forms will not be accepted
If the grant is requested for a specific item, proof of purchase should be available if subsequently required by the Town Council
Applicants are required to provide monitoring information on how grant monies have been spent
Woodley Town Council reserves the right to recover the grant and/or moveable equipment purchased with grant monies if the organisation ceases to exist, if the grant is not used for the purposes specified or if the conditions of the grant are not complied with.
