Halls for Hire



The Council provides halls for use by organisations, community groups and individuals: Coronation Hall Chapel Hall Function Room (Woodford Park Leisure Centre)

Coronation Hall, Headley Road:
Built in 1955 by public subscription, has always been provided by the Council. The accommodation consists of the main hall (capacity 150) with a kitchen adjacent and a committee room. The committee room may be hired separately from the main hall. There are car parking spaces next to the hall.

Chapel Hall, Loddon Bridge Road:
Built in 1959 originally belonged to the United Reformed Church and, following the amalgamation with the Methodist Church, was taken over and refurbished by the Council in 1985 when it was feared that the facility would be lost to the community and the land sold for building. There is one large hall (capacity 100) with a kitchen adjacent and a meeting room at the back that can be used separately. The use of the hall is limited by its proximity to residential properties.

Function Room - Leisure Centre, Woodford Park:
The hall holds 150 people and can also be split into two smaller areas. Bar facilities from the Inn on the Park pub can be provided by arrangement and there is a kitchen attached for use by hirers. Also available in the leisure centre are two upstairs committee rooms, which hold up to 20, depending on layout. Discounted charges are available to Woodley residents, registered charities, and for meetings for senior citizens and youth groups Saturday night social events for all categories at Coronation Hall and the Function room are charged an extra premium.
